Bin Pong Gone! destroys “bin-juice” odours from refuse bins and holding areas. These odours result from a chemical cocktail produced by tiny organisms having a feast.
For example, food scraps break down and release compounds like hydrogen sulphide (rotten eggs) and methanethiol (rotting cabbage). The bin juice at the bottom of the bin creates an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment where the smelliest bacteria thrive.
Plus, mould loves the dark, damp corners of a plastic bin, contributing that “musty” base note to the odour. Acidic foods (like citrus or tomatoes) react with other waste to sometimes sharpen the scent.
The enzymes in Bin Pong Gone! are specialised proteins that act like biological scissors. They target the specific chemical bonds in organic matter, and once attached, trigger a chemical reaction that shatters the complex odour molecules into simple, odourless components like carbon dioxide and water.
Bin Pong Gone! works by:
1. Acting as Biological Scissors
Enzymes are proteins that speed up chemical reactions. Think of them as tiny scissors that “cut” complex waste molecules (fats, proteins, and starches) into smaller, simpler pieces.
2. They Feed the “Good” Bacteria
Once the enzymes break down the grime, naturally occurring “good” bacteria can digest the waste much faster and more efficiently. This prevents the “bad” anaerobic bacteria from taking over and producing those foul gases.
3. They Tackle “Bin Juice”
Enzymatic cleaners are particularly good at breaking down the sticky film and dried liquids that get trapped in the pores of plastic bins-spots that a quick rinse with water often misses.
Rinse your bin and while still wet, apply Bin Pong Gone Wet the affected area with water because enzymes need a damp environment to work.
Now treat the affected area with a liberal dose and wait 24 – 48 hours for the odour to disappear. (Please note: a second application may be necessary for serious odours.)
